하나님의 사람 The Man of God 선지자 엘리사는 하나님의 사람이라 불리는 사람중의 하나였다. 하나님의 사람이란 하나님이 불러 택한 사람이다. 하나님이 엘리야를에게 엘리사를 그의 계승자로 세우라 하신다.엘리야는 소를 몰고 밭을 갈고 있는 엘리사를 불렀다. 예수께서 자기가 원하는 자들을 불러 함께 있게 하고 보내어 일하도록 열두제자를 택하셨다. 하나님의 사람은 하나님의 부르심에 응하여 따르며 그에게 속한 사람이다. 엘리사는 부름 받자 동리 잔치를 하여 그들과 작별하고 엘리야를 따르며 하나님께 속한 사람이 되었다. 예수님의 제자들은 부르심을 받자 고기 잡던 배와 그물을 뒤로 하고 일어나 그를 따랐다. 하나님께 속한 사람이면 그의 일을 그와 함께 또는 대산하여 수행한다. 자기 자신의 말이나 일이 아니라 부르신 자가 가라는 곳으로 가고 하라는 말과 일을 한다. 엘리사는 왕에게 과부에게 보냄을 받고 사명을 행하였다. 예수님의 제자들은 온 세상으로 보냄 받아 전도하고 병자를 고치는 일을 하였다. 나의 의지나 힘이 아니라 순종하면 주께서 능력을 주시어 주어진 일을 하게 하신다. 바울의 표현으로 그는 하나님의 대사가 되는 것이다. 하나님을 대신하여 하나님을 나타내는 일이 얼마나 영광스러운가! 하나님의 대사는 그의 신분과 사역에 대하여 자랑스럽게 생각하고 그를 불러 세워 주신 하나님을 경외하고 감사한다. 하난님의 사람은 하나님의 성품을 닮아간다. 하나님 앞에서 그의 음성을 듣고 그와 친밀한 관계를 맺고 살면 자연스럽게 그를 닮는 것을 알게 되고 말하지 않아도 하나님의 사람이라는 것이 나타난다. 하나님은 자기 사람을 지키고 보호한다. 아람 사람이 엘리사를 잡기 위하여 수만은 군사와 말과 병거를 보내었지만 하나님은 그보다 더 많은 하나님의 군대를 보내어 그를 둘러 지켰다. 히스기야 왕 때 아수르 큰 군대가 예루살렘을 점령하고자 왔지만 그들은 화살 하나 쏘지 못하고 하룻밤 사이에 모두 죽임을 당하였다. 하나님이 저희를 지키시매 악한 자가 손도 대지 못한다고 하시는 주의 말씀이 이루어지는 것이다. 그렇다면 하나님의 사람은 어떻게 살까? 세상에서 세상풍속을 따라 살 것이 아니라 구별된 모습으로 주의 뜻과 말씀을 수행하며 주의 나라가 이루어지도록 책임감 있게 살 것이다. 이로서 하나님의 나라가 가까이 오고 확장되는 것을 보며 주의 이름을 높이고 주의 영광을 나타낼 것이다. 선지자 제자만 아니라 오늘 목사와 교인 모두는 하나님의 사람이다. 내가 나의 신분을 확인하다. 여행하며 출입국 할 때 여권을 가지고 나는 어느 나라에 속한 사람인가를 보여 준다. 나라의 입국 이상으로 우리 삶의 마지만 주의 나라에 이를 때 주 앞에서 내가 주의 사람이라는 것을 보여줄 수 있을까? 하나님의 부르심을 받고 예수의 피로 죄 씻음 받아 성령으로 중생하여 받은 도장으로 하나님의 사람인 증명을 보여주어야 영생의 천국으로 환영 받을 것이다. The Man of God The prophet Elisha was one of those called “a man of God.” A man of God is someone whom God calls and chooses. God instructed Elijah to appoint Elisha as his successor, and Elijah called Elisha while he was plowing the field with oxen. In the same way, Jesus called those whom He desired to be with Him and to be sent out to work, and He chose the twelve disciples. A man of God responds to God’s call, follows Him, and belongs to Him. When Elisha was called, he held a farewell feast in his village, said goodbye to the people, and followed Elijah, becoming one who belonged to God. When Jesus’ disciples were called, they left their fishing boats and nets behind, rose up, and followed Him. Those who belong to God carry out His work with Him or on His behalf. They do not speak their own words or do their own work; rather, they go where the One who calls them sends them and do what He commands. Elisha was sent to kings and to widows to fulfill his mission. Jesus’ disciples were sent into all the world to preach the gospel and heal the sick. It is not by one’s own will or strength, but through obedience that the Lord grants power to accomplish the task given. In Paul’s words, such a person becomes an ambassador of God. How glorious it is to represent God and make Him known! An ambassador of God takes pride in this identity and calling, and reveres and thanks God who called and appointed him. A man of God grows to resemble God’s character. When one listens to God’s voice before Him and lives in close fellowship with Him, one naturally becomes like Him, and even without words it becomes evident that this person is a man of God. God guards and protects His own. When the Arameans sent many soldiers, horses, and chariots to capture Elisha, God sent an even greater army of His own to surround and protect him. In the days of King Hezekiah, when the mighty Assyrian army came to seize Jerusalem, they could not shoot a single arrow and were all struck down in one night. Thus the Lord’s word is fulfilled: when God protects His people, the evil one cannot even lay a hand on them. How, then, should a man of God live? Not by following the customs of the world, but by living a set-apart life, carrying out the Lord’s will and word with responsibility so that His kingdom may be established. In doing so, one will see the kingdom of God draw near and expand, will exalt the Lord’s name, and will reveal His glory. Not only prophetic disciples, but pastors and believers today are all people of God. I must confirm my identity. When traveling and passing through immigration, I show my passport to prove which country I belong to. More important than entering any earthly nation is this question at the end of our lives: when we come before the Lord’s kingdom, will I be able to show that I am the Lord’s own? Those who have received God’s call, been cleansed of sin by the blood of Jesus, been born again by the Holy Spirit, and bear His seal must present this proof of being God’s people, and thus be welcomed into the eternal kingdom of heaven.
