하갈은 마귀의 하수인인가!Is Hagar a pawn of Satan? 아브라함의 아내 사라가 임신하지 못하자 사라는 여종 하갈을 통하여 아들을 낳고 싶어 남편을 설득하였다. 하갈은 자기가 임신한 것을 알자 교만한 마음이 일어나 주인 사라를 멸시하였다. 사라가 하갈을 학대해자 그는 도망하였다. 하나님이 그를 만나 주인에게 돌아가 복종하라 하고 그에게 생육하고 번성하는 축복을 주시며 자손이 많아지면 형제와 대항하고 싸움이 있을 것을 하였다. 이런 하갈의 모습은 예수님을 시험한 마귀를 닯았다고 생각된다. 예수께서 사역을 시작하시며 광야에 나가 40일간 금식하며 기도할 때 마귀가 나타.났다. 아니 네가 하나님의 아들이 아니냐! 왜 그렇게 굶고 있어! 돌로 떡을 만들어 먹지. 멸시하듯 놀리는 말투다. 주님은 사람은 떡이 아니라 하나님의 말씀으로 산다고 한다. 사탄은 예수님을 성전 꼭대기에 세우고, 네가 하나님의 아들이지! 뛰어 내리라 하나님이 사자를 명하여 네 발이 돌에 부딛히]지 않게 하시리라 하며 성경 말씀을 가지고 시험한다. 주님은 주 너희 하나님은 시험하지 말라 하신다. 마귀는 그에게 천하만국을 보여주며 네가 하나님의 아들인데 그렇게 굶고 있어! 내게 한번만 절해라 그러면 이 모든 것을 네게 주리라 한다. 예수께서는 주 너의 하나님께 경배하고 다만 그를 섬기라 하시며 시험을 물리쳤다. 마귀는 그를 떠나 도망하였다. 사탄의 첫째 일은 주님과 주의 백성들이 약한 처지에 있을 때 그를 멸시하고 조롱하는 것이다. 어려움이 있을 때를 놓치지 않고 기회를 보아 시험한다. 그러나 주를 믿는 사람은 주의 뒤를 따라 말씀으로 대적하고 공격하여 그를 물리치면 그는 도망한다. 마귀는 한동안 예수님을 떠났나 그는 후에 다시 그를 공격하여 십자가에 못을 박게 하였지만 주께서는 죽고 부활하여 인류 구원을 이루셨다. 그래도 마귀는 계속하여 주의 백성을 시험하고 공격하여 넘어뜨리려 한다. 그러기에 성도는 깨어 마귀의 시험을 알고 말씀으로 대적하여야 할 것이다. 주의 나라에 이르기까지 세상에 사는 동안 우리는 마귀의 시험을 받으면서 정신을 차리고 깨어 말씀과 성령의 능력으로 대적하며 힘을 길러야 할 것이다. 예수님을 시험하던 마귀가 떠나자 천사들이 나아와 수종 들었다고 한다. 천사는 구원 받은 자를 섬기라고 보냄 받은 자다. 하갈은 교만하여 마귀의 하수인으로 살았지만 사라와 그의 아들 이삭은 천사가 수종 들어 지키고 인도하는 인물이 되었다. 성도가 험한 세상에 살며 많은 멸시와 조소를 받을 때가 있지만 담대하게 서서 이겨내고 성령의 지혜와 권능을 받고 천사들이 수종 들어 도움을 받는 매일이 되기를 바란다. Is Hagar a Pawn of Satan? When Abraham’s wife Sarah could not conceive, she persuaded her husband to have a son through her maidservant Hagar. But when Hagar realized she was pregnant, she became proud and looked down on her mistress Sarah. When Sarah mistreated her, Hagar fled. God met her on the way, told her to return and submit to her mistress, and promised her the blessing of fruitfulness and multiplication. God also said that when her descendants increased, there would be conflict and strife among her brothers. In this aspect of Hagar’s behavior, I find a resemblance to Satan, who tested Jesus. When Jesus began His ministry, He went into the wilderness and fasted for forty days. Then the devil appeared. “Aren’t you the Son of God? Why starve like this? Turn these stones into bread!” His tone carried mockery and contempt. Jesus responded that man does not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Satan then took Jesus to the pinnacle of the temple. “You are the Son of God, aren’t you? Throw Yourself down! For God will command His angels to keep You from striking Your foot against a stone.” Using Scripture itself, he attempted to test Jesus. But the Lord answered, “You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.” Then the devil showed Him all the kingdoms of the world, saying, “You are the Son of God—why remain hungry? Bow to me just once, and I will give You all of this!” Jesus replied, “Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only,” and He drove the devil away. The devil fled from Him. The devil’s first work is to mock and belittle the Lord and His people when they are in a weakened condition. He looks for moments of hardship and seizes the opportunity to test and tempt. But those who trust in the Lord follow His example—meeting the enemy with the Word, resisting him, and driving him away. Satan left Jesus for a time, but later attacked Him again, seeking to bring about His crucifixion. Yet through His death and resurrection, the Lord accomplished humanity’s salvation. Still, Satan continues to test and attack the people of God, trying to make them fall. Therefore believers must remain alert, recognize the devil’s schemes, and oppose him with the Word of God. As long as we live in this world, on our way to the kingdom of God, we will face the devil’s temptations. We must stay awake, resist by the power of the Word and the Spirit, and grow in strength. After the devil left Jesus, angels came and ministered to Him. Angels are sent to serve those who will inherit salvation. Hagar lived in pride and acted like a pawn of the devil, but Sarah and her son Isaac became people protected and guided by angelic ministry. Although believers may face contempt and ridicule in this difficult world, may we stand firm, overcome, receive the wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit, and experience daily the help of angels who minister to God’s children. test
