하나님의 아버지 마음 Father Heart of God 예레미야는 하나님은 이스라엘을 배역이라 유다를 반역이라 하신다(3장) 배역은 무신(Faithless)으로 하나님을 버리고 하나님 없이 우상을 만들어 섬기고 있다. 반역은 불신실(Unfaithful)로 하나님을 믿는다고 자부하나 하나님께 성실하게 충성하지 못하였다. 부부이지만 남남으로 사는 것과 부부관계를 유지하나 신실하지 못한 것과 같다. 하나님은 남남으로 있는 자가 차라리 신실하지 못한 자보다 더 의롭다고 하신다. 남남으로 있는 자는 돌아 와서 화해하고 화합할 수 있기에 하나님은 그에게 돌아오라 부르고 기다리신다. 예수께서 유대인과 이방인을 두 아들 비유로 말씀하는 현실이다. 둘째 아들은 아버지 재산을 받아 집을 떠나 마음대로 살면서 모든 것을 잃어버리고 난 후 살기 위하여 천한 일을 하다가 집생각이 나서 아버지께로 돌아간다. 아들이 아니라 품꾼으로 받아달라는 마음이다. 아버지는 아들이 나간 후 배일 아들이 간 방향을 바라보며 그가 돌아오기를 기다리고 있다. 어느 날 걸인 차림으로 힘 없이 오는 자가 자기 아들인 것을 알고 뛰어나가 반갑게 맞는다. 아들은 더 이상 아들이라 할 수 없다고 하지만 아버지는 그를 잃었다가 찾은 아들이라며 입을 맞추고 좋은 옷을 입히고 양을 잡고 잔치하였다. 반면 큰 아들은 집에서 아버지를 모시고 착하게 살았지만 사실은 잔치하는 아버지의 마음을 이해하지 못하고 집에 들어가기를 싫어하였다. 아버지가 하는 일을 받아주지 않고 자기 동생을 향한 애정도 없었다. 그는 몸으로 자리를 지켰으나 마음은 그러지 않아 신실하지 못한 것을 나타내었다. 하나님은 이스라엘 향하여 돌아오라 내가 너를 받아주고 멀리 가 있던 자를 불로 예루살렘 집에서 함께 모여 살자 하신다. 유다는 하나님의 임재 언약궤를 모신다고 자부하지만 그들은 하나님을 마음으로 받거나 기쁘게 하지 못하고 하나님도 그들에게 불편하였다. 하나님은 겸손하게 자기를 찾고 구하는 자를 언제나 반갑게 만나주시고 그들을 바른 길로 인도할 목자를 세워 양육하고 돌보신다. 다시는 완악하고 배역하여 떠나지 말고 함께 사랑을 나누며 살자 하신다. 우리는 어떠한가? 우리는 하나님 밖에 있는 이방사람으로 하나님을 모르고 하나님 없이 살았다. 하나님이 우리를 찾아오시고 아들 예수를 어린양으로 희생하여 우리를 살리시고 그 피로 씻은 정결한 옷을 입히시고 자녀 삼아 잔치를 베풀어 주시고 임마누엘로 영원토록 함께 살도록 하셨다. 이제 우리는 하나님을 아버지라 부르고 그를 찬양하며 그에게 감사하고 그를 기쁘게 하며 살아야 하지 않겠나! Father Heart of God In chapter 3, Jeremiah says that God calls Israel “faithless” and Judah “rebellious.” Faithlessness means abandoning God, living without Him, and making idols to serve. Rebellion means being unfaithful—claiming to believe in God but failing to serve Him sincerely and faithfully. It is like the difference between a couple who live as strangers though they are married and a couple who maintain the marriage but are not faithful to each other. God even says that the one living as a stranger may be more righteous than the one who is unfaithful, because the one who is distant can return, reconcile, and be restored. Therefore God calls such a person to return and patiently waits for them. Jesus illustrated this reality with the parable of two sons, representing the Jews and the Gentiles. The younger son received his share of his father’s inheritance, left home, and lived as he pleased. After losing everything, he took a lowly job just to survive. Then he remembered his home and decided to return to his father, thinking he was no longer worthy to be called a son and hoping only to be accepted as a hired servant. After the son left, the father kept watching the direction his son had gone, waiting for his return day after day. One day he saw a weak figure coming in the appearance of a beggar and recognized that it was his son. He ran out to meet him with joy. Although the son said he was no longer worthy to be called his son, the father welcomed him as the son who had been lost but was now found. He embraced him, kissed him, clothed him with the best robe, slaughtered a fattened calf, and held a great feast. Meanwhile the older son had remained at home and lived dutifully while serving his father. Yet he did not understand his father’s heart of celebration and even refused to enter the house. He did not accept what his father was doing and showed no love toward his younger brother. Though he remained physically in the house, his heart was not truly with his father, revealing his lack of faithfulness. God calls to Israel, saying, “Return to Me. I will receive you, and those who have gone far away will come back and dwell together in Jerusalem.” Judah boasted that they possessed the ark of God’s presence, yet they did not truly welcome God in their hearts or please Him, and God Himself was uncomfortable with them. God gladly meets those who humbly seek Him and ask for Him. He raises shepherds who will guide them in the right way, nurture them, and care for them. He says, “Do not become stubborn and faithless again and depart from Me, but live together in love.” What about us? We were once like Gentiles outside of God—living without knowing Him. But God came to us, sacrificed His Son Jesus as the Lamb, and saved us. He clothed us with clean garments washed by His blood, made us His children, prepared a feast for us, and promised to live with us forever as Immanuel. Therefore, should we not now call God our Father, praise Him, give thanks to Him, and live in a way that pleases Him? ✨
